Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany; it is the most populous city in Tuscany, with approximately 382,000 inhabitants. Florence is famous for its history: a center of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of the time, it is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, and it has been called “the Athens of the Middle Ages”. Florence attracts millions of tourists each year, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. The city is noted for its culture, Renaissance art, architecture and monuments.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Rome, then by taxi to Train Station, then by train to Florence (about 1 hour and 30 minutes ride from Rome to Florence); then approximately 5 hours walking tour of Florence with visit to the Dumo (inside and outside), Battistero (outside), Accademia to see the famous David by Michelangelo (or Uffizi painting gallery as a second option), lunch in a typical restaurant, then to Signoria Square and Old Bridge. Then, by taxi, back to Florence train station to catch the train back to Rome. We can also arrange the roundtrip transportation by private car or van (about 3 hour drive each way).
